An artist's impression of a set of two coins featuring native
orchids in colour, launched by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. They are
the fifth and last in an annual series that pays tribute to the beauty of
orchids.
The 2015 Native
Orchids of Singapore coins feature the Dendrobium leonis and the Dendrobium
secundum. They can be purchased individually, or as a set and each coin has a
face value of $5.
There will be 10,000
pieces of each individual design, 3,000 pieces of the set, and 500 pieces of
specially selected coins in each design encased in a capsule.
At the e-shop of the Singapore Mint, the individual coins cost
$128 each, while the 2-in-1 set costs $258. The specially selected coins may be
subject to balloting. The coins will be issued on Nov 13. Orders must reach The
Singapore Mint by Nov 9.
